Tropical storm ETA or occasional hurricane ETA has moved through.  At Anchor House in Port Manatee we have some roofing from a warehouse roofing job that looks like it is not in correct places. Grounds crews are cleaning up at Access Control. Lots of puddles around and at almost 10am the morning after it is eerily quiet here. Why is it so calm?  The words come to mind like “wrung out” depleted, vacant.  Recovery and relief also come to my mind. We have seen some magnificent rainbows lately and of course the rainbow is Biblical. The rainbow is a sign of the promise of God. It is beauty and blessing.

Mark 4:39-41 “He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.  He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” Sometimes after the storms we would be wise to ask that question about the Lord, “Who is this… that even the wind and waves obey him?”  Truth be told, God is always with us in our storms.
