The captain of one of our weekly ships asked us to purchase Christmas trees, lights and decorations to make the ship look festive. We were able to bring those Christmas decorations onboard today. The ship would be in port 17 hours total. No time for them to come to the center and no time for the seafarers to go to town. It will be fun to see it decorated next week when it arrives. Maybe we will have the opportunity to talk about why we decorate and celebrate next week.
Anchor House had our volunteer breakfast this morning to share some Christmas joy and to thank our precious volunteers. This afternoon our Center was decorated. Carols are playing some of the time. We are making an atmosphere to share the celebration of our Savior’s birth.
We are prepared to share our faith and our hope in Christ when given the opportunity. I think of 1 Peter 3:15 “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
