​Help Anchor House Restore, Rebuild, and Refresh Our Ministry Spaces

 

This Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Anchor House is inviting friends, churches, and community partners to join us in a very practical project that will strengthen our ministry to seafarers and dockworkers at SeaPort Manatee.

Over the years, our storage rooms have become vital hubs for ministry supplies—housing items for our Seafarers’ Store and Ditty Bag Program. These spaces allow us to keep personal care items, snacks, and other essentials ready for distribution to the hundreds of international seafarers who visit the port each month. However, these rooms are in serious need of restoration. The shelving needs replacing, we need storage bins, and the layout makes it difficult to organize and access what we need quickly.

 

We would also like to rebuild the outside porch that was damaged during Hurricane Milton. For years, this porch has been a safe harbor for those who spend their lives at sea and a place of shelter for dockworkers during the hours when Anchor House is closed. It’s where weary crew members can connect with family online, share a meal, or simply rest after long days aboard ship. Rebuilding and improving this space will allow us to continue offering comfort, connection, and refuge to all who work and serve at the port.

 

Your generosity this Giving Tuesday will help us restore and refresh these vital ministry spaces—creating cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environments for the men and women we serve each day at SeaPort Manatee.

This year’s Giving Tuesday goal is to raise funds to:

• Replace and rebuild shelving units for safer, more efficient storage.

• Purchase new storage bins and organizational tools.

• Support the cost of architectural renderings and design drawings for rebuilding our outside porch area—a covered space that provides shelter, Wi-Fi, and rest for dockworkers and seafarers when our center is closed.
